Some claimed the actors had an on-set affair, while others alleged they despised working together. The Monkey Business movie star caused multiple complications in filming because of her erratic behavior due to her addiction to pills at the time.

Nevertheless, Curtis once made awful remarks against the late icon Monroe. He said that sharing a kiss with his co-star in the movie was “like kissing Hitler.”  In 2008, the Spartacus movie star told The Guardian that his Hitler remarks were taken out of context, saying,

“Someone said to me, ‘Hey, what’s it like kissing Marilyn?’ I said, ‘It’s like kissing Hitler. What are you doing asking me such a stupid question?’ That’s where it came from.”

Billy Wilder-directed Some Like It Hot crime comedy earned critical acclaim and received praise from fans and critics alike for its extraordinary plot. The film won six Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor and Best Director.
