Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is yet to be released, but a fresh update from its test screening has frightened fans. Recently, DC film test screenings have been a mixed bag. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam did badly in previews, culminating in a disappointing box office performance. Other DC films, such as Blue Beetle and The Flash, garnered excellent feedback from their separate test screenings, with the latter apparently being “extraordinarily well-received.”

But, it appears like Aquaman 2 is presently in the same position as Black Adam, with fans outraged with DC for not removing Amber Heard from the film.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Gets Poor Test Screening Reception

After a half-dozen test screenings, ViewerAnon described Aquaman 2 in a way that has created a buzz among fans. ViewerAnon said,

“I’ll be honest, we’re half a dozen test screenings in and it’s not looking great. I’ve consistently heard over the last half year or so that it’s boring, not as good as the first, and potentially one of the worst DCEU movies. This is one of the bad things about being a scooper: I don’t want to shit on movies but at a certain point, when people know there have been a lot of test screenings our silence becomes pretty telling. I like Wan, I know he’s had a rough time on this one, I hope it works out.”

Big Screen Leaks (BSL) confirmed ViewerAnon’s claim, saying,

“It brings me no joy to back him up and tell you that test screenings for this film have not been good. Really hoping Wan fixes this movie before December.”

They also expressed their concern by adding,

“I heard that something that almost never happened in test screenings happened with this movie. They’re really going to need to fix this one and fix it fast.”

Although the scooper claimed that the poor reviews and performance have nothing to do with Amber Heard, who is playing Mera, fans are still outraged at DC for continuing to work with her.

Fans Express Disappointment with DC’s Decisions

Due to her court battle with actor Johnny Depp, Heard has been embroiled in quite a few scandals. Fans were from the very beginning vocal about their demand to have Amber Heard removed from the cast. But DC did not take any such actions and continued to work with the actress.

After the news of the bad screening test reviews surfaced on social media, fans have taken to social media to express their concerns as well as share their opinions about the situation. Many of them claiming that Amber Heard is the reason for such bad performance.

The outrage of fans was also intensified by the removal of Ben Affleck‘s Batman from the DC Universe.
