Ryan Reynolds has appeared in multiple action flicks till now. From Deadpool to Safe House, he is no stranger to actions, stunts, violence, and accidents. While shooting his 2021 action comedy, the star begged his co-star to not ‘punch him in the face’ during a shoot. However, even the audience knows accidents are inevitable on the film sets and Reynolds ‘accidentally’ got punched right in the face.

Frank Grillo is a hunk. Even at the age of 58, the star is bulked up and ripped, thanks to a very rigorous diet and fitness regimen. So imagine getting full-on punched in the face by the Marvel star, because that is exactly what happened with his poor co-star Ryan Reynolds, who had a taste of his fist despite begging Grillo not to punch him.

While on the Inside of You podcast, Grillo revealed what went down.

“I punched Ryan Reynolds in the face. There’s a scene where it’s Ryan [Reynolds], Sam [Jackson], and Selma [Hayek], and we have them tied up. Their hands are behind their back, and I’m coming in to interrogate him. I’m from Bomb, the detective, and he’s doing his thing when he yaps, you know, and I punch him in the face, right?”

But before he could do anything, Reynolds had something to say,

“So, I take a swing, and he goes, ‘Grillo, do not punch me in the face’. I go, ‘Brother, I’ve been boxing since I was 11. I’m not going to punch you in the face. Just don’t lean in.’ First take, I clip him right in the chin.”

Well, even trained boxers can make mistakes.

Most A-list actors would have gone crazy to get punched by their co-stars despite begging them not to hit them. But not Ryan Reynolds. In fact, he was super cool about it, even though that was the take that went in the movie.

Grillo stated in an interview on the Inside of You podcast,

“I hit him… I grazed him, but that’s the take they kept in. He was a good sport about it.”

And that is probably why Reynolds is as loved as he is right now, for being a down-to-earth person despite being one of the biggest Marvel stars.
