Daniel Craig has become a global icon for his portrayal of the famed British spy agent James Bond. He has played 007 in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time To Die, displaying his usual ways of chasing bad guys, performing dangerous stunts, and sleeping with beautiful women, regardless of whether they are allies or foes.
Craig has once lived his life like a real James Bond. In fact, a former girlfriend admitted he was very much like his on-screen character when it comes to dealing with women.
Daniel Craig’s Former Lover Shared Explosive Details About Their Past Relationship
In an interview with Star Magazine via Daily Mail, former 1987 Playboy Playmate Marina Pepper revealed details about her six-month affair with Daniel Craig. The ex-couple moved in together after meeting at a pub in London. The actor was only 18 at the time, and she was 20. Pepper stated:
“Daniel was an animal in bed. I’ve gone seven times a night with [Daniel], but we were younger in those days and had a lot more energy. He has so much charisma and is one of the s*xiest men I have ever met.”
Craig has just enrolled at the National Youth Theatre when he met Pepper, a model for the Playboy magazine. Interestingly, she revealed the James Bond star as a “b—bs man.” She continued:
“He was irresistible – and incredible – in the bedroom. He had a very healthy s*xual appetite, and we didn’t get much sleep when we were in bed together – which was a lot of the time.”
Pepper ended their relationship after she suspected Craig was seeing someone else. Sounds like a notorious James Bond move!
Daniel Craig Admits His Version Of James Bond Isn’t As S*xist As The Former Ones
In line with his role as James Bond, Daniel Craig talked about the evolution of the character who is infamously known for his womanizing ways. The actor told Esquire:
“Hopefully, my Bond is not as s*xist and misogynistic as [earlier incarnations]. The world has changed. I am certainly not that person. But he is, and so what does that mean? It means you cast great actresses and make the parts as good as you can for the women in the movies.”
Craig admitted that as his character gets older, his ancient practices should also be left behind. He has to show some form of maturity, though he understood it was not very easy to change Bond’s signature style:
“He’s very f—king lonely. There’s a great sadness. He’s f—king these beautiful women, but then they leave, and it’s… sad. And as a man gets older, it’s not a good look. It might be a nice fantasy – that’s debatable – but the reality, after a couple of months…”
Somehow, Craig hesitated to take on the role of 007 because of the notions attached to the character. He did not want people to identify him the same way they look at James Bond, but over the years, he has grown comfortable with it:
“There’s kind of a rigidity to it. You’re playing this very specific character, and everybody starts looking at you in that way, and you’re like, ‘I’m not that.’ I did feel like, ‘I’ve got to look like I’m doing other stuff.’ But then it was, ‘Who for?’ So the public think, ‘Ooh, isn’t he versatile?’”
The Knives Out star does not worry about being typecast as he thinks it’s not really a terrible position to be in. In fact, he has become at ease with his character.
