Simon Pegg has worked with Tom Cruise in many of the Mission Impossible films, and therefore, both actors have become close friends in real life. In an interview with The Independent, Pegg claimed that Cruise will show a new side of him that audiences have never seen after he’s done with performing death-defying stunts in his films. This ‘third act’ of Cruise, as predicted by Pegg, will remind fans of the versatility and range that Cruise has always had as an actor. He said,

“I don’t know. I love working with Tom, and he’s really good fun to work with but I get the feeling that when Tom goes off and does other things, it’ll be a completely different thing. He has a whole other age to come in his career. He’s a very good actor, a very, very good actor — as we’ve seen in Magnolia and Jerry Maguire… I think when he finally stops jumping off shit, he’ll have a third act. And yes, it’d be nice to be a part of that.”

Cruise is 61 now, and he will eventually start slowing down on films that are heavy on action and physical stunts. It remains to be seen how his career trajectory goes once he’s done with the Mission Impossible franchise and the kind of films he chooses to participate in at this phase of his life.
