When it was announced all the way back in 2016, it seemed like an odd move by author J.K. Rowling to create a stage play for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the sequel of her beloved Harry Potter series, which also gave birth to the iconic Harry Potter cinematic franchise featuring Daniel Radcliffe as the titular protagonist.

But this move proved to be blessed with the golden touch of the author, as the show saw a tremendous response from long-time fans of the series and connoisseurs of theatre and stage plays. And despite the backlash she received for her comments on Transgender rights, the show functioned with great success.

As per the records of 2023, it is being reported (via Deadline) that the show has made a whopping £14 million through ticket sales from the show. HPTP Holdings, the company behind the stage show, reported a 300% increase in revenue compared to the financial year of 2022 when the show only managed to make £3.5 million from the play. This has managed to earn the creator of the literary series £8.25 million, or $10.5 million.

And with HPTP Holdings reopening the play for the audience, people have gathered en masse to witness the magic of the Wizarding World with the stage show, which has made its way back to Palace Theatre and Lyric Theatre.
