Timothee Chalamet, Hollywood’s golden boy with a string of critically acclaimed hits under his belt, has once again become the center of fan casting fervor. His magnetic performances in films like “Call Me by Your Name” and “Dune” consistently ignite passionate discussions about his potential future roles.
This time, the DC Universe is at the heart of the excitement, with fans eagerly campaigning for him to embody a beloved superhero. However, an industry insider has dismissed this fan-casting frenzy and instead prefers Jacob Elordi for a major role in DC Universe.
Daniel Richtman Believes Jacob Elordi Would be a Better Nightwing Than Timothee Chalamet
Recently, X user @BlackMajicMan90 shared that his “dream DCU casting for Timothee Chalamet would be Nightwing”. This grabbed the attention of industry scooper Daniel Richtman. Known for his latest industry updates, Richtman had someone else in mind for the job.
“I think Jacob Elordi would be more fitting tho?” – Richtman on X
While Chalamet is among the most talented young actors in Hollywood, Richtman did not find him the best man for the job. Instead, he preferred Australian actor Jacob Elordi to don the suit of Nightwing whenever DC calls for a role for the character.
Elordi made his acting debut with Netflix’s The Kissing Booth (2018) and his career has only gone up from there. From Euphoria to Saltburn, Elordi is on his way to becoming a household name, which he can finally if he plays the role of Batman’s boy.
Timothee Chalamet is Open to Superhero Roles Despite Leonardo DiCaprio Telling Him Not to
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the biggest actors of all time and one of the remaining big names to never star in a comic book movie. Apparently, he suggested the young-gun Chalamet to follow a similar route – with “No Hard Drugs and No Superhero Movies”.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Chalamet revealed that he dreamt of being an actor after watching The Dark Knight. And while DiCaprio has suggested him not to, he can still consider a superhero movie if the script was great, and the director was great.
“Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good,” Chalamet said. “I follow them both! But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, ‘The Dark Knight.’ If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.” – Timothee Chalamet to The New York Times
Chalamet started acting after watching The Dark Knight. Thus, it would be a full loop if he eventually plays the role of Nightwing as the son of the Bat.
