A lot of people would agree that Avengers: Infinity War is one of the best Marvel movies to date. The complexity, the emotions, the action, all of it was just at an all-time high! The film had all of us either biting our nails or screaming at the top of our lungs. However, filmmaker James Gunn wasn’t that big of a fan of the film.

Avengers: Infinity War brought all our favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe characters together, including James Gunn’s Guardians. While fans were initially stoked to see the Guardians of the Galaxy ensemble show up, the excitement soon turned bitter. Why? Well, that’s because a majority of the fans blame Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord for Thanos’ win and James Gunn is not here for it.

Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill made a couple of not-so-smart decisions in Avengers: Infinity War and James Gunn does not believe that the character would have done any of those. Gunn has been linked with the Guardians of the Galaxy since the first film of the franchise and it’s safe to say that he knows these characters the best.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn voiced his disappointment with how Star-Lord was made to take all the blame on his shoulders, especially since the character would not have pulled off something as stupid as he did. He stated, “They did some things that I wouldn’t have wanted.” This is about the scenes where Star-Lord couldn’t shoot Gamora and where he lost his temper and attacked Thanos. THR writes,

“(Yes, he says, Star-Lord would have killed Gamora if she asked him to; no, he would not have punched Thanos and doomed the universe.)”

Gunn might have taken his chance to paint Quill in a better light in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3  as the character was seen confessing to his mistakes in footage of the film. Quill states, “[Gamora’s] dad threw her off a magic cliff and she died, and then I lost my temper and nearly destroyed half the universe.”

Do you think Quill’s actions in Infinity War were by his character or are you with Gunn on this one?  We know it’s a heated debate!

As we all know by now, GOTG 3 is going to be Gunn’s final work for Marvel as he now has the rival superhero universe to handle. Needless to say, fans were wondering whether any of the Guardians would follow suit and play a character in the DC Universe and Pratt has the answer to that.

In an interview with CBR, Pratt stated that if he were to join the DCU, he would like his fans to decide which character he should play. As for Gunn, the Jurassic World actor says that he is one of his best friends and that he wouldn’t hesitate to answer his call.

“As far as DC characters pan, I don’t know. I will let the fans tell me what they would want me to do. I don’t have anything official to announce. I haven’t spoken to James Gunn in any capacity to where he’s offered me anything like that. But listen, I love the guy. You know, he’s one of my best friends. I totally believe in him. And if he calls me, I am answering.”

We might be looking at a possible Pratt-Gunn reunion sometime in the future and we are here for it! Do you have a character in mind that Pratt would be perfect for?
