Most things about life are unpredictable, be it the life of people in general or that of celebrities. But some people’s lives take this unpredictability to a whole another level of hilarity, and Jamie Foxx’s life falls in this second category.
This comes after the actor shared the story of the hilariously unexpected event where he got his clothes stolen from his very own house after he refused to give away a live recording of the late singer Whitney Houston.

This happened back in the day when Foxx used to do Karaokes, and celebrities used to show up to them as well. Of these celebrities were none other than Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, where Brown forgot the lyrics and the fact that those were written onscreen since it was karaoke, while Houston killed it with her voice. But what was more funny was how the situation escalated to Bobby Brown wounding up stealing Jamie Foxx’s clothes!

During one appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jamie Foxx shared the story from the time he used to do karaoke, to which even Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston showed up. This goes back to the time when Houston was “the female R&B singer of the millennium or whatever,” in the Django Unchained star’s words.

The one time that this happened, while Brown embarrassed himself by forgetting the lyrics of the song they were singing (to which he later said, ‘Man, y’all know I don’t sing this for anybody. I get a million dollars for singing it’), Hollywood’s beloved Houston gave an extraordinary performance and “just killed it.” Thus, Foxx made sure to record this once-in-a-lifetime moment on his camcorder.

But little did he know how much that one recording would cost him. As The Burial star continued to share the story with Jimmy Fallon:

“Later on that night, I’m at the crib. We having a little after spot 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. I hear this [knocks] at my door. That means somebody must have jumped my gate. And it’s Bobby Brown. And Bobby Brown is like, ‘Yo, I got to get that tape.’ I said, ‘Well, I don’t — I don’t have the tape here.’ He said, ‘Well, I got to take something.'”

Saying that, Brown “just burst” inside Jamie Foxx‘s home, and “he goes into my closet and starts picking out clothes and, like, putting out clothes and stuff.” While the Ray star inevitably found this “crazy” and was unable to figure out what to make of it, in the meanwhile, something even hilariously crazier happened. As Foxx continued to say:

“And then this little girl came in, and she was like, ‘Oh, my God! Bobby! Oh, my God! I love you! I recorded you guys tonight!’ He says, ‘Really? Let me hear it.’ She said, ‘Oh, I didn’t get you. I only got Whitney.'”

For one who desperately wanted that recording, this clearly didn’t go all too well. Thus, in an effort to calm him down, Foxx went ahead and told him, “Bobby just calm down. Just get more clothes.” Funnily enough, Bobby Brown not only took more clothes from Foxx but even left with them!

Just like that, only because Jamie Foxx didn’t have the recording of Whitney Houston with him at the time and couldn’t share it with Bobby Brown the same, the latter ended up stealing the former’s clothes from Foxx’s very own house!

What Happened with Jamie Foxx’s Clothes Afterward was even more Hilarious!

Continuing, Jamie Foxx then shared with Jimmy Fallon what happened to his clothes afterward, which further had the audience rolling on the floor laughing. He said:

“About eight weeks later, I look on ‘People’ magazine. It was Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston on the magazine. It said, ‘Clothes by Dolce and Gabbana.’ I said, ‘No, it ain’t. That’s my… [clothes]!’ [Laughter] ‘Clothes by Jamie Foxx.'”
As for the tape holding Whitney Houston’s glorious voice? “I still got the tape. I put it in my safe deposit box,” said Jamie Foxx. Well, if Bobby Brown returns to take the recording from him after this, what would be next? Jamie Foxx’s shoes?!
