The insider who revealed the above has also shared some unexpected details about the 13 Going On 30 actress’ marriage with her Oscar winner ex-husband and her feelings towards Affleck’s new wife Jennifer Lopez.

As she talks about her rekindled relationship with Ben Affleck in her songs, film, and documentary, the actor’s ex-wife also has some beans to spill.
Insider shares details about Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s troubled marriage
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck tied the knot in 2005. The former couple is now co-parenting and raising three kids – Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15, Samuel, 12. After a rollercoaster decade together, the pair finally split up in 2016 and were legally divorced two years later, in 2018.
A source recently told Life & Style that the Elektra actress is finally opening up to her friends about the “rough” time she went through during her marriage with the Gone Girl star. As per the insider, Affleck had made Garner’s life “hell.”
While the Batman actor has candidly spoken about his struggle with addiction, the source says “His addictions were worse than anyone knows.” They said,
“Jen’s explained how she had to deal with Ben during benders and blackouts and plenty of ugly arguments. Some pretty incomprehensible stuff.”
Weighing in on their troubled marriage which also involved a cheating scandal, the source also claimed that the celebrity couple went “weeks without talking to each other.” They allegedly even slept in separate bedrooms.
Jennifer Garner holds ‘no grudges’ against Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez rekindled their romance approximately two and a half years after the former’s divorce from his ex-wife. Their relationship came on the heels of the On The Floor singer’s split from her baseball player ex Alex Rodriguez.
Talking about Affleck’s marriage to Lopez, the source said that the Hustlers got the “recovered” and “better” version of the 51-year-old actor, while his ex-wife had to deal with him at his “worst”.
The insider said,
“Jen had to deal with him at his worst. She put in the hard work and gave the unconditional love Ben needed at his lowest points, and J. Lo got the recovered, better Ben. It’s painful to think about, but Jen holds no grudges.”
Although the Good Will Hunting star’s ex and current wife aren’t best of friends, “they are in a better place,” according to a second source.
Ben Affleck started drinking “more and more” amid marital troubles
The two-time Oscar winner has been candid about his addiction woes for years now. However, in 2020 he spoke about how his public split from Jennifer Garner had influenced his drinking habits.
Speaking to the New York Times, the now 51-year-old said,
“I drank relatively normally for a long time. What happened was that I started drinking more and more when my marriage was falling apart. This was 2015, 2016. My drinking, of course, created more marital problems.”
The star, who is sober now, also called his divorce from Garner, “the biggest regret” of his life.
