Jenna Ortega’s Hopes For Wednesday Season 2
In latest news coming from the Wednesday camp, the show’s second season will stream only from 2025. According to reports, the series was one of the productions to have been directly affected by the Actors Strike. This time around, Jenna Ortega will step up as producer of the show as well. Early on in 2023, the star spoke about the hopes she had for season 2.
Season 1 presented lots of thrills and chills with Ortega’s character at the center of not only a gruesome murder mystery, but also a love triangle. The actor admitted though, that it was the horror scenes that excited her more than the romantic angle of the series. Speaking about the possibilities for the character in Wednesday season 2, she said during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,
“I think we want to up the horror aspect a little bit and then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation, let her be her own individual and fight her own crimes.”
While many fans and Addams Family buffs have enjoyed and appreciated the storyline involving Wednesday and her two love interests Xavier and Tyler, Jenna Ortega confessed that the love triangle did not appeal to her. In an appearance on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, the actor spoke of how she tried to manipulate the situations in the narrative to suit her taste.
“Her being in a love triangle made no sense. There were times on that set where I even became unprofessional in a sense where I just started changing lines”
With a long way to go before Wednesday season 2 hits the television screens, it remains to be seen if Jenna Ortega’s wish for the show materializes especially since she now officially has a say in the narrative as producer.
