Jennifer Lawrence Once Used Her Katniss Everdeen-Bow and Arrow in Real Life!

Actress Jennifer Lawrence dedicated a significant amount of time to practicing and training with a bow and arrow to master the skill for her role in The Hunger Games franchise. The actress recounted a once-scary, now-hilarious incident to Vanity Fair, where she found herself using her acquired archery skills to defend herself. She revealed,

“One time I actually used it for defense. I pulled into my garage and I heard men in my house. And I was like, ‘I’m not letting them take my stuff. I had just gotten back from training, so I had the bow and arrows in the back of my car. I went to my car and I put this quiver on me and I had my bow and I loaded it and I’m walking up the stairs. And I look, and my patio doors were open, and there were guys working right there, and I was like, ‘Heyyy, how you doin’?'”

Speaking on Fresh Air she revealed,

“I really, really enjoyed archery. I had an amazing instructor, Khatuna. She was Georgian. She was an excellent instructor — very, very strict. If I had bad form, she would pinch my ear. She didn’t really put up with anything. It totally changed my body. It was so crazy, when I went back for the fitting for the second movie for ‘Catching Fire,’ my shoulders were two inches broader and my right arm is one inch longer than my left arm, permanently, I guess. But I really enjoy it.”
