Deadline reported that Jennifer Lopez’s newest Netflix offering called The Mother, that aptly released on Mother’s Day, has grabbed enormous audience attention. The site reported ratings recorded by Samba TV and stated that “The action thriller was watched by 2.8M U.S. households over its debut weekend, according to L+2D (live plus two days) data.

As per Samba TV, The Mother saw better ratings than Glass Onion 2 and Murder Mystery 2, which were led by Daniel Craig and Jennifer Aniston respectively. As per the measuring site, “Glass Onion captured 2.6M households while Murder Mystery 2 was viewed by 2.4M.” That’s not all. Samba TV also reported that “The Mother over-indexed by 33% among Black households and 25% among Hispanic households.”

Thus, it can be concluded that Lopez’s latest film resonated with diverse audiences. Also, it’s clear that Mother’s Day weekend boosted the performance of the film. Due to such great numbers, many of her fans are now stating that the film has performed better than two of her husband, Ben Affleck’s latest films.

Also, the total number of watches the pop star’s film actually received will be difficult to know unless Netflix reveals those numbers. As per the mega streaming site, Daniel Craig’s Glass Onion 2 had a viewership of 82.1 M while Jennifer Aniston’s Murder Mystery 2 netted 64M. It now remains to be seen if Lopez’s film can chart better than those two.

The Mother is now streaming on Netflix.
