They go, ‘And action!’ And I was out. We realized they worked me too hard, too many hours, too many days in a row. What I’m willing to do is everything, but what I’m able to do is a different thing.

The Hawkeye star acknowledged that his capabilities are still limited at this point and that the crew had to treat him as if he’s a child actor. It’s better to be safe than sorry, anyway, and Renner believes that listening to his body is his priority. The actor reflected on his job amid his recovery:

To try to create some truth and then get the audience to believe it, while I’m just trying to learn to walk again, to put one foot in front of the other and not get up in agony. I’m doing all these things to find my footing on the planet again.

The Avengers actor remains positive throughout his journey to full recuperation. He has been giving updates to his fans since his accident, and he continues to take his physical therapy seriously.

The producers had to adjust their schedule to accommodate Renner’s medical needs. He also stayed in Pittsburgh throughout the production as he could not fly to California since jetlag may take a toll on his body.

Jeremy Renner may still have some pain in his body, but he doesn’t let it get in the way of venturing into new interests. Apart from being an actor, he also runs a charity foundation and a liquor business. He told Cigar & Spirits:

The recovery will always be ongoing. Being busy for me is part of the recovery. Getting back into life and just doing life stuff. I feel like I’m not going to be injured the whole time. This is mentally and psychologically important for me.

He remarked that his other activities aren’t as grueling as acting and that a lot of people help him out in his businesses. Indeed, Renner finds new avenues to pour out his overflowing energy despite his injuries. After all, he needs it for good mental health.

The actor’s survival from the accident remains one of the greatest miracles that happened to a Hollywood celebrity, and trying his best to get to work shows how much he wanted to give back to his supporters.
