For singer Jessica Simpson, it was fame and stardom that she couldn’t even dream of, especially when she used to perform at Church Choirs before taking the whole world by storm at the age of 17.
But along with her, fellow pop singer Britney Spears was also rising at a meteoric pace, and at one point, she took over the world with more fame and recognition than Simpson.
Thus, it didn’t help that both of these successful stars of the music industry looked so much alike, which also meant that if Spears was getting more popular, Simpson would also be mistaken for her due to their resemblance. Even today, that misunderstanding persists. But thankfully, the singer hasn’t taken it to heart.
In fact, she has come to accept the fact that this is how things are, and probably will be in the future, and she has made peace with this fact. In a recent interview with ET, the Take My Breath Away singer said:
“I mean, that’s my whole life. Not all the time, but I mean, there are similarities and I think that because we both grew up in the business together, it’s easy to mistake us. Brown eyes, blonde hair, Southern.”
Therefore, while it may be a little awkward at times for her to see fans confuse her with her fellow star, it doesn’t seem to bother her as much.

While she may have made her debut in the late ’90s, Simpson would first gain major recognition for her voice and music in 1999’s I Wanna Love You Forever.

After that, the pop sensation quickly rose to even greater heights with numerous successful singles and albums she released with Columbia Records. Today, she’s a successful businesswoman and a dedicated wife to her husband and mother to her children.
