Jujutsu Kaisen fans recently got the surprise of the spoilers for chapter 257, which is scheduled to be released on April 21. The spoilers were a collection of raw scans of the chapter, and although they were a little hazy, they gave a decent understanding of the narrative of the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen chapter.
As seen in the previous chapter, Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, was finally awakened and was ready to fight the King of Curses, Sukuna, in a one-on-one battle. Sukuna has battled and defeated almost every sorcerer, and while he was enjoying his previous fights, it looks like his battle with Yuji might not go in his favor this time.
The spoilers have revealed that Sukuna and Yuji share a connection that is more than Yuji being the former vessel of the King of Curses. Also, with Yuji being awakened, he is able to keep Sukuna on his toes and even make him feel pain for the first time in the entire series. This is a feat that even Gojo Satoru couldn’t achieve.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 Reveals The Real Connection Between Sukuna and Yuji Itaodri
According to the spoilers, the chapter starts with Sukuna and Uraume having a conversation about Sukuna’s twin and how he ate him when they were in the womb. The soul of his twin was then used by Kenjaku for his plan in some way.
As the spoilers were not official, the early translations read that Kenjaku used the soul of Sukuna’s twin to create Yuji. However, later on, it was revealed that Sukuna’s twin was reborn as Yuji’s father, Jin Itaodri, and Kenjaku decided to conceive Yuji with Jin to not only make him a perfect vessel but allegedly the perfect replacement for Sukuna.
If the translation is correct and holds any credence, then Yuji might be Sukuna’s nephew. The twin theory, which was quite prominent among Jujutsu Kaisen fans, came out to be true; however, Gege Akutami managed to put an interesting twist on it that no one could have imagined.
Sukuna Feels Pain For The First Time in Jujutsu Kaisen
While the familial connection between Yuji and Sukuna has shocked Jujutsu Kaisen fans, the chapter did not end there. After establishing the connection between Yuji and Sukuna, the spoilers revealed that the two engaged in a fight where Yuji was seen overpowering the King of Curses. His awakening has certainly made him much stronger.
The spoilers have revealed that not only was Yuji able to dismantle Sukuna’s cursed technique, but he also broke Kento Nanami’s record of the most black flashes in a single fight. While Kento held the record of using four black flashes in a row, Yuji Itaodri was able to allegedly use eight black flashes against Sukuna, which even shocked the King of Curses.
Things are not looking good for Sukuna, as Yuji’s awakening has unlocked a new level of strength within the protagonist. Sukuna has allegedly felt pain for the first time in Jujutsu Kaisen history, and that too from the blows of Yuji Itaodri, and it is a big thing considering the fact that Sukuna had no respect for Yuji as a sorcerer.
Sukuna has fought the literal powerhouses of Jujutsu Kaisen and still came out stronger than everyone else. But Yuji making him feel pain is a full-circle moment in the series. Fans can now only wait for the official chapter to be released to find out more about Sukuna vs. Yuji.
