The One Piece Live Action fever is still very much active, even after half a year of its release. The cast got worldwide recognition and reached the heights of popularity. One of the reasons for the series’ success was Eiichiro Oda, who was present with the production team. He handpicked the actors who were to bring his magnum opus to the live screen.
Season one concluded with the Straw Hats heading for Loguetown. Over the shooting days, the cast bonded and has been going on interviews together. Recently, during an interview, Iñaki Godoy and Taz Skylar were seen together. While the conversation was going on between reel-life Luffy and Sanji, they gave out spoilers about the Whole Cake Island arc, which the series watcher will find hard to relate to.
Real Life Sanji Is Ready For Whole Cake Island
During an interview, Iñaki Godoy and Taz Skylar were being asked questions about the series. One of the questions was how far they had gotten into One Piece and what their favorite arc was. Sanji refrained from answering since he mentioned that people always ask him whether he knows a particular character. Then Iñaki Godoy told him to wait till he got to the Whole Cake Island arc.
Then Skyler answered, “How do you know I haven’t got passed!?” His answer roused Godoy and the fans. They were shocked to hear Skyler’s answer. Then, reel-life Monkey D. Luffy collected his composure and teased a spoiler. He said, “I wonder what will happen between me and Taz.” The anime watchers instantly got the reference, while it would be difficult for the series watcher to understand the situation.
[Spoiler Alert]
The Whole Cake Island arc was an emotional stage for Sanji. It showed Sanji’s true origin and had one of the most devastating fights in One Piece. Straw Hat Pirates’ chef was forced into marriage by his family and had to force his will on his captain. It was during that time that Luffy gave one of the most emotional dialogues throughout One Piece.
Iñaki Godoy and Taz Skylar Are Ready For One Piece Live Action
Netflix’s One Piece Live Action has been renewed for a second season, and it is under pre-production. But before the shooting could begin, Iñaki Godoy and Taz Skylar gave an idea of what the future of the series would look like. The Whole Cake Island arc will be a crucial phase in their life, which will help them build a stronger bond. It will show Monkey D. Luffy’s true resolve and how much he is willing to sacrifice for his fellow cremates.
Godoy is an avid One Piece lover, while Skyler is still watching. The latter getting the Whole Cake Island reference shows he is pretty far into the anime. Even though there might be some real-life disputes between them if Netflix decides to adapt the Whole Cake Island, their real-life friendship is one to envy. They are always together and are full of praise for each other.
The only problem with the mentioned arc is that Zoro and Usopp won’t be there. Either way, it is fair to say the fans are eagerly waiting for Netflix’s One Piece Live Action season 2, and the cast members are ready to dive into Eiichiro Oda’s world and give their best. With new characters coming in season two, it will have a lot of expectations riding on them.
