When Monkey D. Luffy set out to find the One Piece, he wanted to have ten members on his crew. Along his journey, he found several allies and many of them boarded his ship. Due to his signature Straw Hat, they came to be known as the Straw Hat Pirates. The latest one to join his crew was the former Warlord Jinbei, who joined them before the raid on Onigashima.
Jinbei is the ninth member of the Straw Hat Pirates. So, there is still one member missing from Yonko Luffy’s crew. There have been several characters who came close to joining them but could not due to personal reasons. One Piece has entered its Final Saga, and it might not be long before they find the tenth member. Fans believe four characters have the best possible chance of joining them.
4. Jewelry Bonney
Jewelry Bonney is the daughter of Bartholomew Kuma and had her proper introduction with the Straw Hats in Egghead Island after the Sabaody Archipelago arc. Fans believe that she has the best chance of joining their crew since he always fancied Sun God Nika. After knowing that it was Luffy all along, she might stick with them. Moreover, Bonney is a top target for the World Government since Dr Vegapunk gave her the highest authority to control the Kuma-faced Pacifistas.
Killing her would let the Five Elders regain their maximum authority. Kuma had a close relationship with Monkey D. Dragon, so their children would also extend that friendship. Jewelry Bonney is 12 years old and has a unique Devil Fruit. It would also benefit Luffy on his arduous journey to Laughtale.
3. Yamato
Fans were sure that Yamato would become the final member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Even though she was Kaido’s offspring, she sided with the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance. She was influenced after reading Kozuki Oden’s journal and wanted to set out to see the outside world. After Kaido’s defeat, she had the best chance of joining the Straw Hat Pirates, but she declined and stayed at Wano to guide Momonosuke.
Yamato is a strong warrior. From the moment she was introduced, it looked like she was going to be the latest member, but Eiichiro Oda had different plans, even though she still has a chance of joining them. Akainu and Blackbeard still restrict Luffy’s path to Laughtale, and Yamato could help in adding firepower to his crew.
2. Vivi
Vivi was the first character to light up the One Piece fandom but ended up disappointing them. They were sure that Vivi was going to be a Straw Hat, but she belonged to the Royal Family of Alabasta and had obligations to her family. Even though her father was an ally to Luffy, she did not want to leave him alone after going through a civil war. But the scenario changed after her father, Nefertari Cobra was murdered by Imu-sama in front of Sabo.
She is the only character to become an honorary member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Vivi had the chance to join them almost a thousand episodes back and might finally do so to fight the World Government for their ruthless nature. Being a member of the Nefertari family, she might know some secrets about the Void Century, which will help them in finding the One Piece.
1. Smoker
What Monkey D. Garp was to Gol D. Roger, Captain Smoker is the same thing to Monkey D. Luffy. Smoker is the only character to have come close to capturing Luffy on several occasions. He is a strong character and rose to the rank of Vice Admiral. Even though he is a Marine, he does not support the ruthless nature of justice and is one of the fan-favorite characters in One Piece. Fans believe Smoker could be the final member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Currently, his adversary is fighting one of the Gorosei, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. It could influence him to join Luffy after getting to know the true nature of the World Government and how they have been doing shady activities behind the mask of justice. Moreover, Blackbeard Pirates have a former Marine, and Smoker could fill that place for Luffy.
