One Piece’s protagonist Luffy is currently facing his biggest challenge right now in Egghead Island as he is about to fight all five elders together in the coming chapters, and he needs to either defeat them or escape from them to move to the next arc of the series, which will most likely be the Elbaf arc.

However, as the series has entered the final saga, his problems have just started, as now he will be facing all the major antagonists of the series one after the other. The Navy, The World Government, Imu, and Blackbeard, all of them are getting ready to decide the fate of the story, and Luffy has to beat them all to achieve his dream.

While all of these villains are insanely strong, the strongest of them all in the end will probably be Blackbeard, who according to recent chapters, has not only gained Law’s Poneglyphs but also might gain the strongest weapons that have been talked about in the series. If he acquires these weapons, Luffy might need something much stronger than Gear 5 to beat the villain.

Blackbeard May Gain The Ancient Weapons

In One Piece chapter 1108, Caribou tracks down Van Augur and Catarina Devon, two of Blackbeard’s ten Titanic Captains, on Egghead. He requests them to accompany him to Blackbeard, saying he has important information to offer them. He states that this information may be very valuable for Blackbeard.

The chapter indicates that Caribou is aware that Pluton is concealed beneath Wano and that Shirahoshi possesses Poseidon’s might. Caribou aims to share this knowledge about the Ancient Weapons with Blackbeard, potentially making him more powerful than before. Acquiring such vast power would help Blackbeard immensely in his endeavor to take over the whole world.

The Ancient Weapons are reputed to have inconceivable power and have been sought by the World Government for hundreds of years. With his understanding of the Ancient Weapons, Blackbeard will become Luffy’s most formidable opponent, and Luffy might need a whole new level of power to match up to him.

Luffy Will Need an Upgrade to Fight Blackbeard

The recent events in One Piece have made it clear that Blackbeard will be Luffy’s ultimate opponent, as the character is rapidly becoming established as an important part of the story. If he learns about the Ancient Weapons, Blackbeard will most likely become the strongest character in the entire One Piece franchise.

In order to defeat him, Luffy will need some kind of additional strength. However, as of right now, no indication of Luffy getting a possible upgrade has been shown in the series. The only power-up that is hinted at for Luffy is that he might be able to control the Iron Giant, which was seen in the initial chapters of One Piece.

The series is nearing its end, and fans are too excited to see how the events of the final saga will unfold. But the most important aspect of the conclusion will surely be the fight between Luffy and Blackbeard for the One Piece treasure and the title of the King of the Pirates.
