Kang The Conqueror, a time-traveler and powerful force in the MCU was keeping the protectors of the Multiverse on their feet up until now. However, a new fan art teased the return of the iconic MCU villain Ultron, which gave way to new theories. Initially featured in Phase 2 of Marvel, the supervillain was envisioned to be introduced in the upcoming Disney Plus series, Vision Quest by an innovative fan. Ultron donned a predominantly AI look in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and was voiced by James Spader.
The villain was created by an experiment done by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, expecting it to be an artificial intelligence that would protect the Earth using the Mind Stone. However, Ultron turned into one of the greatest villains of the Avengers, before Iron Man destroyed it. With many future MCU projects in line, the fan recreated Ultron’s appearance in MCU against Paul Bettany’s White Vison.
Ultron re-imagined as White Vision’s villain
A fan recently took to Instagram to share their creative take on Ultron’s reappearance in the Multiverse Saga. The fan, bensolo_cup posted an art of Ultron alongside White Vision, hinting at the new villain of the Vision Quest series on Disney Plus. The caption of the Instagram post stated,
“What do you guys want to see in the upcoming Vision series on Disney Plus? The main thing I really hope to see is the return of James Spader in the role of Ultron. He is one of the greatest marvel villains and it would be the shame if he only ever made one appearance. I would love to see them further explore what the relationship between vision and Ultron could be!”
Originally voiced by James Spader, fans are expecting that the veteran villain might reappear in the MCU. Moreover, Spader’s recent conclusion of the NBC series The Blacklist also sets the timing just right.
As per fan theories, Ultron returning in the WandaVision spin-off series would make a great plotline, since White Vision portrayed by Paul Bettany, also voiced Tony Stark’s JARVIS since 2008, per Screen Rant. Also, Vision’s frame was supposed to have Ultron’s intellect, which once again, makes way for a great plot.
