Kate Beckinsale might be one of the Queens of Cinema, ruling the industry with her terrific acting chops, but she is also famous for being the ‘Queen of Pranks’—something that she is even better at than acting. A notorious prankster with god knows how many victims, her most popular targets are her family members and friends, and with her epic pranking skills, the Underworld actress makes sure to get a good laugh out of everyone.
Just like she did with one of her friends who, apparently, made the mistake of sleeping next to her. However, this one went a bit too wrong and Beckinsale’s prank not only left the person humiliated but also probably scarred for life!
Kate Beckinsale’s Hilarious Prank On Her Friend
With another appearance of hers on The Graham Norton Show came another hilarious prank story of hers, and this time, Kate Beckinsale truly proved she can do just anything to get a good laugh. As she explained:
“It was a very impromptu one because I’d been… If somebody falls asleep next to me, it’s dangerous because I like to glue beards to them or draw tattoos or whatever it is. Pirates of the Caribbean beard and all that. And I’d run out of things like that and yet, I was still after the rush of doing it.”
Despite it being an ‘impromptu’ one, her prank still stole the show. Continuing, the Van Helsing actress shared what she actually did to leave the person sleeping next to her totally humiliated.
“So, I got into bed and I think I got a little one of those chocolates that you get by the bed. And I thought, ‘How funny would it be if I just tucked it in between the person’s buttocks while they were asleep?’ [Laughs]”
Although she didn’t reveal the name of who was the victim of this terrifying prank of hers, she did mention that the prank came to her ‘organically’.
“It just sort of came very organically: My eyes fell on the chocolate,” she said. “I see the sleeping bottom here, and then I thought, ‘I’m just gonna do it.’ And I tucked it in.”
Little did Kate Beckinsale know how unexpectedly wrong her prank would go for her victim!
Kate Beckinsale’s Prank Went Wronger Than She Thought
Continuing, Kate Beckinsale explained the outcome she expected to come out of her chocolate-buttock prank—something that never ended up happening because the next day was rather ‘fortuitous’ for her!
“I thought maybe I’d get into trouble in the morning. But it was a very fortuitous day because this was the morning where the person was in a terrible rush and just went straight into the pants and the trousers and then straight to work.”
While the person pranked may not have noticed the chocolate in the rush at first, they did notice it at some point during the day, and that’s when the tragedy unfolded itself.
“Halfway through the day at work,” she continued, “there was the [reaction], and then kind of a bit of a scuttle backward to the loo, and then the horror, horror, horror of ‘I’ve done this without even feeling it.’”
Laughing while recalling the situation, the Pearl Harbour star shared how she didn’t feel bad about the prank and how it went wrong, despite loving the person ‘dearly’.
“I was absolutely thrilled. No, I loved them dearly, but I thought I was gonna have the thing in the morning of, ‘Oh, Kate you’ve put chocolate in my bottom.’ […] I didn’t know it was going to go that far! I thought it was just going to be the morning but it just sort of unfeld so well.”
