Keanu Reeves is the internet’s darling. At 58 years of age, he is one of the few uncanceled celebrities by social media. Actually, he’s actively adored by the public. After all, his acts of kindness are well-known and the fact he doesn’t like getting his name attached or taking credit for the deeds makes him even more beloved. But out of all his generous actions, there’s one that’s not quite well-known. A couple of years back, the actor actually auctioned off a date with himself in spite of being in a relationship for a cause that will bring tears to your eyes.

Keanu Reeves’s sister Kim was diagnosed with deadly blood cancer Leukemia in 1991. In response, he sold his house to move closer to her, cleaned her home, cooked her meals, and prepared all of her necessary medications. That’s not all. The actor also hit the brakes on his rising Hollywood career and delayed the filming of The Matrix sequels to take care of his ailing sister. In an interview with People, Kim Reeves said that her brother is her prince. As per her:

“My brother is my prince. He listens to every word, to every comma after every word, that you are saying.”

It took a decade, but Kim finally entered remission. Inspired by the entire ordeal and his sister’s fight against cancer, Keanu Reeves donated millions to various cancer charities. This included auctioning off a 15-min date on Zoom with himself for the cancer charity organization Camp Rainbow Gold in 2020. The description of the auction read:

“Bill & Ted. Speed. The Matrix. John Wick. You know him. You love him. This is truly priceless and now you have the chance to Zoom with him from home! Get your questions ready and spend 15-minutes with actor, director, producer and musician, Keanu Reeves.”

As reported by Page Six, the winning bid for the date was $16,000. But this wasn’t the only act of kindness by Keanu.

Who can forget the ‘you’re breathtaking’ incident that took place at the 2019 Microsoft Xbox E3 press conference? An attendee shouted the phrase at Reeves and the actor reacted by adorably calling him as well as everyone in attendance the same thing. It made the rounds of social media and endeared The Matrix star more to the public.

Not just words, the actor has walked his talk and donated money to the people who need it. Page Six reported that Keanu Reeves once heard of a set builder of The Matrix having financial troubles and gave him a $20,000 bonus.

Also, on the sets of The Matrix Reloaded, he gifted 12 stunt guys a Harley-Davidson bike each. That’s not all. He also gifted the stuntmen on John Wick 4 Rolex Submariner watches with personalized inscriptions. Page Six reported that stuntmen are always eager to work with Keanu Reeves because he takes them seriously. As per the site:

“Stunt guys are all dying to work with Keanu. Not just for the gifts. It’s because he takes them so seriously and credits them with helping contribute to his success. Stuntmen, fight trainers — these people rarely get that.”

The outlet also stated that Reeves has been able to work in upwards of 60 movies because directors and everyone on the set love him for his thoughtfulness. It reported:

“The reason Keanu’s starred in 60 movies is that, on top of audiences, directors love him, co-stars love him, crews love him. He’s always prepared, he’s always on time. Considerate, communicative, caring — there’s no one whose name he doesn’t know or hasn’t had a conversation with.”

It sounds like Keanu Revees’s sister Kim was right. Her brother is indeed a loving and caring prince.
