Kento Nanami was one of the fan-favorite characters in Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen. The blonde Cursed Energy user was quite strong and used to be a guide to the anime’s protagonist, Yuji Itadori. Nanami left the Jujutsu society after one of his close friends, Haibara, was killed. But he returned to take Yuji Itadori under his guidance on Satoru Gojo’s request.

He had a salaried job and led a simple life. Even though he was away from Jujutsu, his passion for exorcising the Cursed Spirits never changed. Ultimately, when he returned to his passion, it cost him his life.

During the Shibuya Incident arc, Nanami was almost burned to death by Jogo. After being half-burned, he encounters Mahito, with whom he had a few previous encounters. It was a one-sided battle as Mahito played with him. Nanami had zero chance of getting out alive. At that moment, Yuji Itadori arrived, and Mahito used his Idle Transfiguration technique on the blonde Cursed Energy user to give him a horrible death.
His death is one of the saddest moments in Jujutsu Kaisen, and few people are yet to recover from that grief. Before his death, Nanami said to Yuji, “You take it from here.” It was such an emotional moment for the fan. Even Kenjiro Tsuda, the voice of Nanami, was overwhelmed with emotions when he delivered his last speech.

Malaysian Airlines are promoting Kuantan flights through Nanami’s dying wish. The Malaysian Government is looking to build an official memorial after Kento Nanami.
People have already marked the beach as “Nanami Kento Memorial Shrine” on Google Maps. The Malaysian Government and businesses are looking to capitalize on this opportunity to promote tourism in their country. The officials will try to contact Gege Akutami on this particular matter. While this will be a huge thing for the Jujutsu Kaisen fans, it also help Malaysia in promoting themselves to the world. It is great news to see one of the fan-favorite characters getting a memorial that too in a place where he wished to settle down.
