Kevin Feige still wants to make Avengers: Secret Wars the biggest phenomenon in the superhero genre, despite the numerous setbacks faced by the studio. While his OG Marvel characters have started failing him, Feige wants other new characters from Sony and 20th Century Fox to play major roles in upcoming films. Most notably, Feige is reportedly eyeing Tom Hardy’s Venom to play a key role in Avengers 6.
Fans do not like the idea at all, as they believe that Kevin Feige is attempting to involve too many characters and story arcs in the film. This has the potential to turn the film into a giant mess. They want Tom Hardy’s Venom to stay within the SSU, and Marvel could possibly introduce his arc via the next Spider-Man film.
Fans Are Against Kevin Feige’s Desire To Involve Tom Hardy’s Venom In Avengers: Secret Wars
Kevin Feige used to run a tight ship at the Marvel Studios until the third phase of the MCU. As more characters and story arcs started developing across the MCU, the Marvel boss appears to have lost his vision for the franchise. The latest outings from the studio failed critically and commercially, and Feige is desperately in need of a boost.
However, his new measures have more critiques rather than admirers. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the Marvel President is reportedly open to the idea of bringing Tom Hardy‘s Venom into an MCU film rather than the SSU films. Richtman shared on his Patreon that Feige wants the character to make an appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Earlier, Tom Hardy already graced the Marvel Universe with his cameo in the end credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans who loved this appearance opposed Feige’s idea and wanted Venom to stay in the SSU. While the Venom symbiote has a major role in Spider-Man’s arc in the Secret Wars comic, fans believe that the MCU film can not do justice to this entire lengthy arc.
Many suggested that Venom’s symbiote arc should be dealt with in Spider-Man 4 instead of extending it into Secret Wars. Several fan reactions read:

Venom 3 Theory: With Sony wanting a Multiverse Plot for Spidey 4, I think this movie will have a Multiverse Plot. I think we’ll see Venom hunt down Spidey in the SSU. Ends with Venom thrown into Secret Wars with Tom’s Spidey. Could be why Sony are willing to compromise. Thoughts?

Other than Sony’s Venom, Feige might also want the X-Men characters Deadpool and Wolverine to become a major part of the Multiverse Saga finale. Richtman also shared that Venom 3 will be the final solo chapter for the character in the SSU.
Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 Will Hit Theaters In October 2024
Tom Hardy’s film began filming in 2023 but had to shut down production due to the strikes. The film resumed production last November, and Juno Temple shared with Variety at the SAG Awards red carpet that the filming was coming close to an end. Hardy has written the script for the film ongside Kelly Marcel, which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Clark Backo.
Venom 3 comes after the box office success of its predecessors. The 2018 film, Venom, grossed $856.1 million, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage grossed $506.9 million during COVID-19 at the box office. Fans are also surprised at how quiet the production of the film has been in general. While the filming is nearly completed, there are no major leaks or scoops available about the film in discussion forums.
According to Sony, Venom 3 will be released in theaters on November 8, 2024. Venom is now available for streaming on Disney+, while Venom: Let There Be Carnage is available on DirectTV.
