In a previous interview, the How To Train Your Dragon star was asked about rumors which stated that his family ancestors had a connection to Queen Elizabeth the First during her reign as the ruler of the British Empire. Sure enough, the star clarified that these rumors were indeed true and that his ancestors were inventors who made the first flushing toilet for the Queen back in the day. He said:
“That’s 100 percent true. It’s called ‘the John Harington,’ Yeah. I’m glad it’s not called ‘the Harington.’ [My family] also wrote the queen a lot of bad poetry. I’ve inherited the bad poetry genes, but not the inventor genes.”
While it may certainly be an honor that his family had a connection with the Queen in the past, Harington can also boast about his meeting with King Charles’ Late. Mother in person.
