Things may have been unclear about Assassin’s Creed Infinity but fans might have a better idea about the next installment in the franchise with recent leaks surfacing the internet. Details regarding the game first emerged in 2021 and speculations about the game have taken over the since. The executive producer of the game, Marc-Alexis Côté, has described it in the past as a “new design philosophy” for the renowned franchise.
As for now, the spiritual successor of Prince of Persia is the best-selling franchise for Ubisoft with over 200 Million copies sold across the globe. Since its inception, it has been received well by critics for its story arcs, designs, and visuals. Of all the games in the series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla remains its biggest entry to date.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity is Set To Make The Game More Lively
For starters, details shared with gaming news website Insider Gaming reveal it will focus on live-service elements. Moreover, AC Red will likely be released on the same day as Infinity, followed by AC Invictus and AC Hexe. Invictus is going to be a multiplayer game while Hexe is said to become the darkest game in the franchise. All of them will be released throughout the next couple of years.
It doesn’t end just here, other projects include a Black Flag remake dubbed Obsidian, a co-op game Raid, a multiplayer title Echoes, and more are set to make an entry in the franchise. Though it is highly unlikely they will be released over the course of a couple of years. Additionally, the developers are bringing ‘The Exchange,’ an item shop for in-game purchases.
Furthermore, there will be a ‘Synchronisation’ feature to access protagonist-specific ‘Projects’. This will be a recurring feature throughout Infinity with new ‘Projects‘ being added to the game as players advance. All in all, it appears like the franchise will be getting a new look as far as the features are concerned.
Hopefully, The History Will Repeat Itself
In July last year, it was reported that the franchise is developing 11 games including the ones mentioned in this report. Between 2007 and 2023, Ubisoft released around 30 games for different platforms in AC series. One of the interesting aspects of AC Infinity is that the interactive hub it will offer is likely to give players an immersive Animus-like experience.
Animus is basically a technology central to the game which allows in-game characters to relive the memories of their ancestors. Moreover, a player can jump back and forth in history, much like a time machine. In this case, it is more like experiencing the past through virtual reality (VR).
As a flagship series, we can hope that Ubisoft will give the fans the taste of history as it has in the previous games unlike their recent game Skull and Bones.
