Recently a clip from the scrapped game resurfaced taking the Call of Duty community by storm on X.

With levels of the game set on the Moon, fans of the Call of Duty franchise have been left feeling left out as the leaked footage acted as a reminder of what could have been.

While there have been plenty of Call of Duty games so far, fans have been quick to point out that the 9-second leaked footage seemed better than all of the games of the franchise, with Ghosts receiving most of the flak.

While this might be an exaggeration, it is no secret that Call of Duty fans are not at all happy with the way the franchise has treated its fans with bugs and glitches a major issue with the games while the developers keep releasing new ones instead of fixing the old ones.

Whether these positive player reactions to the leaked footage play any role in the direction the franchise moves in the future is yet to be seen.

Another Average Game or a Scrapped Masterpiece?

Call of Duty

Whether Activision chooses to publish Future Warfare is another issue altogether. However, fans have been quick to point out that the stunning footage had the potential for another blockbuster game. But it is to be noted that Future Warfare isn’t the only game that the Call of Duty franchise has scrapped over the years. In fact, Future Warfare takes the list of scrapped COD games to 9.

So, with new footage being released, it will not come as a shock if more footage from the rest of the scrapped projects is released online. Maybe, this is a ploy on Activision’s part as they try to gauge the fan reaction and decide on future endeavors. Maybe it is just a random gamer who came across the footage and released it.

No matter what the scenario is, one thing is certain – the majority of the fans would love to see Future Warfare being released. While chances of that happening are slim to none, the reaction from the fans may lead to the developers including elements from the project into newer ones so fans could get to enjoy the gameplay and mechanics revealed in the footage.

I travel. I game. I write. In no strict order.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
