The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a keen knack for introducing new and explorable characters, especially with Loki in the picture. Tom Hiddleston has done an incredible job as the titular character, so it is not in question that fans want to see more of him as well. He may have been in the franchise for a while now but the audience cannot seem to get enough of him.
He may have been the center of the show but that does not necessarily mean that he was the only one that managed to shine. From Owen Wilson’s Mobius to Sophia D Martino’s Sylvie, there seems to be a mutual understanding amongst everyone about what characters work and what don’t. As such, there was one that even managed to catch the eye of the writer of the series. Oroboros.
Loki Introduced a Great Addition to the MCU
Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan became an easy show stealer for Loki with his breathtaking performance as Ouroboros, also known as OB. The absolutely captivating enigma that he was introduced as gave fans only a glimpse of what can be achieved with such an ambitious character. As per Esquire, it would seem that this discovery hasn’t been unnoticed even by the Head Writer, Eric Martin.
“I’d love to see all of our characters live on—OB and Ke certainly deserve to continue on. I’d be shocked if they didn’t use them.”
The work that the actor put in the role most definitely did not go unnoticed. The charismatic behavior that so simply took everyone’s attention certainly deserves another chance in the franchise as well. Martin even expressed his wish to see the character of OB in other places of the MCU. He deserves more screen time and to incorporate a character like this into the franchise wouldn’t be too bad.
Marvel is Facing a Huge Problem
Marvel has so far been struggling with a problem it is only piling upon. It has been introducing characters without giving them proper time to be fleshed out. Whether it is as obvious as the case of the Eternals or one of America Chavez, the franchise has constantly been introducing characters without taking a proper break to explore them. Focusing on the bigger picture has led the MCU to somewhat forget what made it such a success in the first place.
Although OB has been introduced, there is a strong chance his story gets overlooked simply because the franchise has bigger things to take care of. A balance has been much needed for a long time. So to take it slow and go back to basics, that might not be too bad.
