One of his one-shot manga series titled Look Back will be getting an anime movie adaptation that’s set to release on June 28, 2024, directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. A teaser visual and trailer for the movie Look Back were released, and fans are going crazy over them.

Anime adaptations usually tend to boost the sales of the manga; however, this was not the case with Chainsaw Man, which dominated the charts even without an anime. Constantly ranking in the charts and a growing fanbase made Mappa pick the story.

Mappa released the first season of Chainsaw Man in 2022, the most anticipated anime of the year. However, the final product failed to create an impression on the fans, and the Blu-ray sales of the series were also very disappointing.

If you liked the story of Chainsaw Man and its characters, then there are several other one-shots by Tatsuki Fujimoto that you can read and enjoy. One of the one-shots, titled Look Back, is set to be adapted into a movie that finally has a release date.

More on Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man season one, despite being a very amazing anime, was not able to receive a positive response from the audience. The Blu-ray sales of the series were so low that it felt fake.

Chainsaw Man is currently being serialized; part one of the story aired from 2018 to 2020, and part two started in 2022. The anime announced a movie named Chainsaw Man: Reze ARC. The arc will focus on Denji and Reze and their relationship, and many fans often claim it to be the best arc in the series.

We have received no major updates on season 2 and with the movie releasing soon and the extensive schedule of Mappa, it is safe to assume that season two is still far away. However, it would surely be worth the wait to see Denji and his squad back in action.
