Michael Fassbender is an actor known for his often serious roles in movies like Steve Jobs, Inglourious Basterds, and David Fincher’s latest film, The Killer. Being a two-time Oscar nominee, the actor’s Hollywood career is going as well as it can be.
His ride wasn’t smooth, however, as recovered documents from 2010 were uncovered by The Daily Beast which stated that he was allegedly abusive towards his ex-girlfriend Sunawin “Leasi” Andrews. The complaint by Andrews narrated an alleged tale of abuse from the actor and why she got a restraining order against Michael Fassbender!
Michael Fassbender’s Ex-Girlfriend Accused Him of Abuse
Working alongside notable and iconic directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, and David Fincher, Fassbender solidified himself as a serious actor in Hollywood. Starring in highly successful films, the actor reached the peak of his stardom through the iconic roles that he portrayed.
Amidst his flourishing professional life, the actor was romantically involved with his former girlfriend Sunawin “Leasi” Andrews. As reported by The Daily Beast, a document was uncovered which was a petition by Andrews alleging and blaming Fassbender of physical violence and abuse in 2009.
She reportedly stated that when an ex-boyfriend of Andrews’ came to say “Hello”, Fassbender lost it and was driving recklessly while screaming at her. The event narrated that as she got out of the car to take the keys from the ignition, Michael Fassbender drove the car while Sunawin Andrews was dragged with the actor!
“I went to the hospital and had a twisted left ankle, blown out left knee cap and a bursted ovarian cyst, lots of internal bleeding,” her statement read.
When The Daily Beast approached Andrews for a comment, she said that they had already got the document and “What more is there to say?”. Fassbender was never arrested as these remained allegations and the case was dismissed.
Michael Fassbender Looked Nothing Like Steve Jobs
Back in 2015, Michael Fassbender starred in Steve Jobs. With Danny Boyle as the director, the choice of Fassbender as the lead role seemed peculiar, even for the actor himself! As per The Guardian, the Assassin’s Creed actor told the director that he looked nothing like Steve Jobs.
“Obviously I don’t look anything like Steve Jobs,” he said. “That was the first thing I said to Danny. I said: ‘Christian Bale looks a lot more like Steve Jobs than me.’”
Although the similarity might not have been there, Steve Jobs received a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB and a whopping 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2015 film is available to stream on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
