Jason Isaacs Was Caught Red Handed Stealing From the Harry Potter Sets

The actor Jason Isaacs was allegedly caught attempting to steal a prop from the Harry Potter sets, namely the walking stick he had grown exceptionally fond of. However, he was caught before he could successfully carry out the theft. But later also revealed another funny incident to the Bang Showbiz,

“I once tried to take a copy of The Daily Prophet because there were thousands of them. I said I’d like one of those to director David Yates, who said, ‘No problem mate.’ I put it in my bag and when I got to the gates, they said, ‘David said can he have it back.’ It was so embarrassing. So I got nothing.”

Consequently, turns out that the walking stick was not the sole item he was interested in robbing from the set. Despite his attempt, the director denied clearance, compelling him to promptly return the items to the sets.

While the actor failed in his attempts to steal props from the sets, there were others who skillfully managed to snatch items without anyone noticing, and Alan Rickman was one of them.

Other Actors Who Successfully Stole Props From the Harry Potter Set

Jason Isaacs revealed, that Alan Rickman was the master in this case. In the very same interview, he revealed,

“It was very difficult to steal things because Alan (Rickman) god love him, god rest his soul. He nicked all of the Gringotts coins on the very first day he did Goblins and swiped in and out like a supermarket. I couldn’t get away with it.”

In addition to that, Emma Watson, there were reports that she also managed to acquire a few of her iconic character’s belongings, including the wand and the famous time turner, among other items. She revealed to the Times for Kids,

“I took my wand, I took my Time-Turner, and I took a cloak. That’s about it really,”

Rupert Grint on the other hand took a peculiar thing home, the number 4 off the 4 Privet Drive. He also tried to steal the golden dragon egg but he revealed to Newsbeat(via BBC) that,

“They tracked it down and got it off us,” 

Thus, the list of people who took home little treats as souvenirs is never-ending. It can now be said, that being the props master was undeniably the toughest job on the sets of the iconic franchise.
