The collaboration between Marvel and the Sony Spider-Man Universe just got a dose of female power with Madame Web starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney, which is due to release in February 2024. Johnson will be portraying a paramedic named Cassandra Webb who discovers she has clairvoyant abilities after a near-death experience.

These events take her on a journey where she must protect three high schoolers including Sweeney, who also discovers her superhero instincts. In an interview with Total Film, the Euphoria actor expressed her excitement on being chosen for this prestigious gig with an all female-led cast.

“I can’t wait to be able to be next to the girls that I filmed with, Dakota and Isabela, and Celeste. We had so much fun together. And I’m really excited that it’s just gonna be a powerhouse of badass females for the world to see.”

With the trailer already making the right noises especially with regard to Sweeney’s avatar as Spider-Woman, fans of the star will be eager to see her bring in her trademark charisma on screen.

Madame Web will release worldwide on 16th February, 2024.
