The day got off to a great start with the Nintendo Direct’s amazing stream that featured a plethora of games being announced. Among the major games that were exhibited was the return of Super Mario RPG, coming to Switch on the 17th of November.

The game’s graphics and cinematics have been updated bringing Mario, Bowser, Peach, and the original characters Geno and Mallow to life.

The game is all set for a Fall release and is up for pre-order already. Gamers can pre-order the title now to pre-load and be ready to start the adventure once the game is out in November.

Among the many featured games revealed during the Nintendo Direct stream, Super Mario RPG captured gamer’s hearts immediately. The game featured much of what gamers remember from the original, including the remade Forest Maze theme that fans fondly remember.

The game’s colorful world shown throughout the trailer looked especially incredible with all the characters revamped like never before. Speaking of characters in the game, the original characters Mallow and Geno mark a return, as fans cannot wait to play as Bowser and Princess Peach in the game.

The official description of the game on Nintendo.com is as follows:

“Jump through a colourful world and give attacks some extra oomph in battle! Explore the vibrant environments with your party and jump towards your next goal!

Run into monsters to enter turn-based battles with your party of three. Press the button at the right time for a satisfying dose of extra damage or a helpful guard.”

Fans left a lot of wholesome comments about the gameplay shown in the trailer, as they now wait eagerly to get hands-on.

Fans React To Super Mario RPG

Fans were quick to share their happiness on the social networking site, X (formerly Twitter), after witnessing the colorful trailer during Nintendo Direct earlier today.

While many fans shared their nostalgic memories from the original game, many others welcomed the upgraded graphics shown in the remastered edition.

Judging by fan reactions, the game might just top many charts once it’s out and could be a good contender to rake up some awards come the end-of-the-year review. The game is said to take up 8GB of file size and will be playable in all available modes on the Switch.

Other Featured Games Revealed During the Nintendo Direct Stream

Several other major titles were also revealed during the stream, along with the release date for each of those. Some of the featured games are mentioned below with the release date:

  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong – coming out on the 16th of February next year.
  • WarioWare: Move It! – coming out on the 3rd of November this year.
  • Detective Pikachu Returns – coming out on the 6th of October this year.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass – Wave 6 with 8 courses and 4 characters, coming out during Winter this year.
  • Unicorn Overlord – coming out on the 8th of March next year.
  • Trombone Champ – coming out on the 14th of this month.
  • Tomb Raider I-III Remastered – coming out on the 14th of February next year.
  • Prince of Persia™: The Lost Crown – coming out on the 15th of January next year.
  • Among Us – New Map coming out in October, later this year.
  • Contra: Operation Galuga – coming out early next year.

Switch gamers have a lot to look forward to from this holiday season to the first half of next year. This might be a good sign that a Switch might just be a perfect gift come the holiday season, which isn’t too far away!
