Mark Wahlberg Is Excited About Uncharted 2
In 2022, Mark Wahlberg starred in the adventure film Uncharted which was based on a popular video game. The film made $407 million at the box office and became the 5th highest-grossing film to have been adapted from a video game. In latest news, The Departed star recently updated fans that a sequel to the film is in the works. While Wahlberg did not reveal too many details, he spoke to Screen Rant about receiving the confirmatory call regarding the reprisal of his role.
“Actually, I just got a call today that they got the script in. I can’t grow a real beard and mustache, but they said, ‘Start growing your mustache. It’s gonna take awhile’. I’d be interested to see what the story’s like, and where that adventure takes us. But I’m excited; I know audiences really loved the first one, so we’ll see.”
While Wahlberg indicated that the first film touched a chord with audiences, it received only a 40% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It now remains to be seen how the sequel progresses, taking into account the mixed responses the original garnered.

It’s too bad they didn’t directly adapt the story from the first Uncharted game. It would have been infinitely better than the tripe they made. I have little confidence their second outing will improve the series.

Tom Holland is not the problem whatsoever Mark Wahlberg on the other hand was and is still a terrible choice for Sully

While there are still sections of viewers who are fans of the film and believe that Wahlberg and Holland, if he is on board, can pull off another success, the negative responses to the sequel could affect the hype of the film as it gets into production.
