According to the latest rumors that are making the rounds, Feige may resurrect a few loved characters for future projects including Avengers: Secret Wars, X-Men, and The Fantastic Four. Reports suggest that three iconic members of the Avengers team including Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, whose death ended the Avengers saga, will be recast with fresh actors.

In many ways, Avengers: Endgame signaled the end of an era, with the culmination of many superhero arcs. Along with the emotional death of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Chris Evans’ Captain America handed over the reins to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, leaving a deep void among Marvel fans.

Now, Kevin Feige and his team seem to have reportedly dangled a carrot in front of MCU buffs with a rumored announcement that is creating a buzz online. According to unconfirmed reports, the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars will see Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America as part of the larger narrative. The news which was first broken by a Marvel insider, also indicates that Downey Jr, Johansson, and Evans will be replaced by a fresh set of actors.

2024 Could Be Marvel’s Big Year Of Success

Success and failures aside, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios have never given up on their lofty storytelling ambitions. The franchise is now working towards a packed schedule in 2024 which includes the highly anticipated Deadpool 3. But the Ryan Reynolds starrer isn’t the only marquee MCU project for the year.

In a press release, Disney officially laid out the plans for Marvel television shows that will be released on Disney+ in 2024. Among them is Echo, which is already confirmed to air on January 10th, 2024, while Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and the animated revival series X-Men ‘97 are also looking at a release next year, with the dates still to be announced.

With a few more Marvel animated series having completed production and awaiting release, 2024 may just be the MCU’s big year, after the last few mediocre outings on the big screen. With Deadpool 3’s hype already gaining momentum, the franchise looks to be back on track.
