While some fans may still be disappointed about the cancellation of the live-service Marvel title, Spider-Man: The Great Web, this free-to-play game being developed by NetEase Games may just soften the blow slightly. With an exciting roster of characters to choose from, both heroes and villains, this PvP shooter could just be one to watch for fans.

Marvel Rivals Announces Another New Map

Marvel Rivals
The latest map, Tokyo 2099, appears from the Timestream entanglement.

On the game’s official X page, we can see a new map appearing in the form of Tokyo 2099, and it looks stunning.

The reaction from fans to this on social media was overwhelmingly positive, with the majority of fans commenting that they couldn’t wait to get access to the game.

Eagle-eyed fans will no doubt have spotted the Alchemax building. Given that it is Tokyo 2099, we can only assume that this could be tied into the Earth-928 timeline, where the corporation controls the United States of America. So it would be expected that we would see Miguel O’Hara featured at some point in association with this map.

Fans will no doubt be aware that there is a Closed Alpha Test for Marvel Rivals due to take place on May 10 and is set to last until May 20; however, this has been limited to 30,000 players. So if you are one of the lucky few who managed to gain access to this, well done. Developers are hoping to deliver an exciting gaming experience that may blow players away.

Marvel Rivals: What We Know So Far

Marvel Rivals
Heroes and villains must put aside rivalries to battle together in Marvel Rivals.

The game revolves around the characters of Doctor Doom and Doctor Doom 2099, and it is their corresponding battle that has led to their universes clashing together, creating the Timestream Entanglement. This has led to new worlds being created, and with it come more challenges.

Both heroes and villains from the Marvel universe must unite to battle the two Dooms to ensure they don’t destroy reality. Former foes must put previous differences aside to battle this threat, and with a heavy emphasis on teamwork, players must combine character abilities to achieve Team-up skills that may overpower rivals.

According to rumors regarding Marvel Rivals, some console players will be left disappointed. At the time of writing, it appears there is only mention of PC requirements for the upcoming game, so many fans will be hoping that this changes at some point in the future. With the popularity of Marvel titles, it is understandable that fans would want access to them across multiple platforms.
