X/Twitter user Miller Ross has just dropped a ton of information about the Marvel Rivals game that has been data mined from its Alpha and Pre-Alpha states. One of the biggest points of contention is seemingly about the roster.

The complete list of playable characters from the closed Alpha Test build includes:

Hulk, Punisher, Storm, Loki, Human Torch, Doctor Strange, Mantis, Hawkeye, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Hela, Cloak & Dagger, Black Panther, Groot, Ultron, Magik, Moon Knight, Luna Snow, Squirrel Girl, Black Widow, Iron Man, Venom, Spider-Man, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Mr. Fantastic, Winter Soldier, Peni Parker, Star-Lord, Blade, Namor, Adam Warlock, Jeff the Landshark, Psylocke, Wolverine, Invisible Woman, The Thing, Iron Fist (Lin Lie).

The thread leaking the information has had a ton of replies, and anger seems to be one of the major reactions.

One user had many questions about the roster, including the absence of Danny Rand’s Iron Fist or Kwannon’s Psylocke, Cloak and Dagger being a single character, and Peter Parker and Peni Parker being separate.

Replies to this post weren’t supportive, however, as Peter Parker and Peni Parker (despite being variants of one another) are still two different people and have different abilities, which would fit from a gameplay standpoint.

Another user also questioned the inclusion of Lin Lie in place of Danny Rand while noting the absence of Dr. Doom.

And the list goes on; it’s tough to please a large fanbase when there’s only a limited number of characters you can include in the roster.

Hopefully, the future inclusion of more characters as well as skins can solve this problem and let everyone see their favorite Marvel character in the game.

Out of the 39 characters revealed to be on the roster, 19 were already announced. The characters were numbered on Ross’ tweet, and according to him, those represent when the development of the character started. So, Lin Lie’s development only started a few months ago.

So far, Ross has uncovered five unannounced locations, and each of them has their own set of maps: Hydra Erebus Base, The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, Klyntar, Empire of Eternal Night, and Krakoa.

Unfortunately, there’s no news on skins past what had already been discovered in the Closed Alpha Test build. This includes skins for Mantis, Hulk, Punisher, and others.
