When it comes to the most ripped guys in all of Hollywood, Marvel stars just might be the first ones to pop into mind. In nearly every single MCU movie, the male leads are always as muscular as ever, with Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan being the top picks for a few to count. However, even though Stan looks just as amazing as the other two actors mentioned above, it turns out the 40-year-old actor doesn’t quite consider himself to be the same.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe for more than a decade now, Sebastian Stan has become even more renowned than before for his role as the Winter Soldier in the $715M movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier. A brainwashed mercenary-turned-superhero, even though the 40-year-old actor had a bionic arm most of the time on-screen, that didn’t mean he would just sit back and let his co-stars look more ripped than him.

Talking about his experience of filming with Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, who the actor considered to be more muscular than him, Sebastian Stan explained his perspective while filming for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and then Captain America: Civil War, saying,

“[In Captain America: The Winter Soldier] I knew I was gonna be shirtless in it, and that was like, ‘I just want to look good… naked.’ [But in Captain America: Civil War], I knew these guys were gonna be massive around me. I was like, ‘Let’s just get as thick as possible.'”

Turns out Stan’s hard work certainly paid off, judging how he managed to look better than all his co-stars in the Winter Soldier sequel with his ripped-up body.

At first, during his entrance into the franchise, Sebastian Stan admitted to not having a plan for his fitness training for his first Winter Soldier movie. But after starring in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the 40-year-old actor finally realized the need to get ‘more ripped-up’ than his co-stars Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie.

For achieving this goal and selling his role well, Stan turned to Don Saladino, a renowned celebrity trainer, for help. And the 40-year-old actor’s wish was certainly granted with his trainer’s brutal chest training and arm training regimen for him, finishing off with a brilliant protein-full diet.

Thanks to Saladino’s perplexing training and strict diet routine, Stan was finally able to kill his role of playing a super soldier and surpass his co-actors, Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie in looking ripped for the sequel Captain America: Civil War.
