When Does Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Show Up in Echo?

In the comics, Matt Murdock / Daredevil is linked to Maya Lopez / Echo, making his appearance in the latter’s solo series inevitable. Before the show’s release, it was already confirmed that Charlie Cox would reprise his role as Daredevil after previously doing so in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in a cameo capacity. However, Cox’s Daredevil was expected to have a larger role in Echo.

In the series, Daredevil appears in the very first episode, titled Chafa. The episode features heavy use of flashbacks to flesh out the story of Maya Lopez. Daredevil appears during one of these flashbacks establishing a connection between him and the titular character. The hotly anticipated fight sequence between Daredevil and Echo also takes place during the former’s appearance in the first episode. However, after the brief fight sequence, Daredevil disappears and is not seen again.

Does Daredevil Return in the Future Episodes?

Unfortunately, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil does not return in subsequent episodes of Echo as the series shifts focus to exploring Maya’s story. As a result, Cox only has a cameo in the show’s first episode and does not appear again. However, the series does briefly set up a future conflict between Wilson Fisk and Daredevil that will likely be explored in the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again. The series has already commenced filming and its first season will consist of 18 episodes.

Echo stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez / Echo, reprising her role from Hawkeye. Vincent D’Onofrio also returns as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin. Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, and Cody Lightning appear as Maya’s family members: Henry “Black Crow” Lopez, Chula, Bonnie, William Lopez, and Biscuits. The miniseries consists of five episodes which were released on January 9, 2024, under the Marvel Spotlight banner.
