Ryan Smith, the game director at Insomniac Games, recently appeared for an interview with 9News and revealed some exciting details about Insomniac Games’ upcoming game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This one feature mentioned by Smith has created excitement among the fans,

“We have new features like the web line, where as a player you can create your own opportunities and there are new villains… It gives you a chance to really have some bombastic boss battles.”

Boss battles certainly make a video game much more interesting and with so many villains in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans prepare themselves for a jaw-dropping experience.

Amidst all the hype, Narrative Director at Insomniac Games, Ben Arfmann, subtly hinted at the next game in the franchise in a recent interview with io9,

“All the pieces are in place for one of the most exciting and high-stakes Spider-Man stories of all time. In short, this is shaping up to be the perfect sequel: bigger, faster, and altogether more spidery than its predecessors.”

Some rumors have claimed that the upcoming game can be platinumed in just 30 hours, which is quite short. To put things in perspective, 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man had a playtime of 35 hours. On top of this, rumors also claim that the game will be much larger in size compared to its predecessors, 98GB to be precise.

Smith also revealed that the upcoming game will be twice as big as Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) as they have completely pushed the limits this time,

“It’s nearly twice as big. And I think that it’s really fun because we’re building Marvel’s New York, right? And so it gave us a chance to put in new landmarks that people recognize and have in their imagination. One of the most gratifying things is when people go like, ‘This is the New York I always imagined.'”

Gamers will face some iconic Marvel villains in the game like Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Lizard, and the Venom symbiote, which also bonds itself to Peter Parker. Be sure to experience this yourself as Peter Parker or Miles Morales in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is all set to release on 20th October 2023 for the PlayStation 5.
