Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on October 20 and has been very well received by players and critics alike, sitting on a Metascore of 91 with universal acclaim. The game brings Peter Parker and Miles Morales together after both Spidey’s adventures in their last titles as they take on villains like Sandman, Kraven The Hunter, and more.

As part of the marketing campaign, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 took over the Las Vegas Sphere. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 claimed the spotlight with a 90-second clip, which can be seen in the tweet shared by PlayStation and showcased close-ups of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Venom, followed by a shot of the covert art of the game.

The Las Vegas Sphere is an 18,600-seat entertainment arena, featuring 580,000 sq. ft. of LED surrounding the building and is one of the most expensive advertising places in the world.

This Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 advertisement is quite costly as according to the pricing leaks for the creative spots at the Sphere, a one-day advertisement campaign costs around $450,000.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 spot on the Las Vegas Sphere isn’t the only marketing campaign as a Spider-Man 2 truck was also spotted in Sydney, Australia. The truck was staged in an accident and was covered with webs with two actors playing NPC police officers. The NPC police officers roamed around the truck and discussed the accident.

PlayStation Australia staged the installation in partnership with Akcelo and the creative PR agency, Poem. Talking about the game and the staged marketing campaign on the truck, the director of marketing at PlayStation Australia, Patrick Lagana stated:

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated PS5 games to date and an amazing addition to PlayStation’s unbeatable lineup of exclusives.

We wanted to showcase the power and imagination of Spider-Man and our partners Akcelo and Poem have created a truly exciting campaign that really captures attention.

The collaborative nature of the campaign really encapsulates the “Be Greater. Together” mindset of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and we can’t wait to see people’s reaction to The Spectacular Save.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been very successful so far and it is expected that it will continue to do so. Critics have even pitched the game as a very strong contender for the ‘Game of the Year’ award and some already consider it the best superhero game ever made.

Spider-Man 2 has no negative reviews on Metacritic at the time of writing, so it isn’t surprising to see the game on one of the most popular advert spaces. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has also become the highest-rated Insomniac game ever.

Before PlayStation painted the sphere red with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 advert, Xbox’s marketing campaign on the Las Vegas Sphere boasted about the platform and colored the skyline green with the Xbox logo. Xbox’s Jeff Rubenstein shared a video of the advertisement on X/Twitter for those who couldn’t see it in person.

The Xbox advertisement featured shots of games like Bethesda’s Starfield, Hellblade series, Forza Motorsport, Cyberpunk 2077, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles as well as the 1TB version of Series S with controller coming out of the sphere. This was then followed by PlayStation with the year’s most anticipated title Spider-Man 2.
