If you were looking forward to Marvel’s Wolverine, then we’ve got some bad news for you. No, it’s not a cancellation—but according to a recent statement from Insomniac on X/Twitter, we’re probably not going to hear any news about it for a long while.
After a lot of its assets were leaked following the infamous ransomware attack, people have been eagerly awaiting any news on it. While we know it’s still in production, it looks like the studio will remain tight-lipped on other details for the time being.
We’re Far from Any Updates on Marvel’s Wolverine
The PlayStation showcase that’s rumored to happen in May has to happen soon, considering the month is rapidly approaching its end. It’s all but confirmed as Sony refuses to say anything about it till the last minute, while several industry insiders have said it’s definitely happening.
One of the predictions for the showcase was an announcement for Insomniac’s Wolverine game, which people have been waiting for quite a while now. As the date of the showcase approaches, everyone’s curiosity and expectations continue to grow.
So, when the studio recently posted a picture of their other IP, Rachet and Clank, many people could only think of asking one thing: Where is Wolverine?
We'll share news when the time is right, and the right time isn't now.

The studio was gracious enough to reply with an answer, but unfortunately, it’s probably not what you wanted to hear. In simple words, it explains that it’s going to hold off from saying anything for now, until the “time is right.”
After the ransomware attack in 2023 that resulted in the release of employee data, production assets, and sensitive information about staff, many were worried that the game would be affected.
The size of the leak was to the extent that people were able to circle early playable builds of the game. Insomniac, however, reassured fans that development would continue as usual.
While we sadly cross Wolverine off our predictions/wishlist for the showcase, there are still seven games left that could be announced.
What Else Could Be Shown at the Showcase?
No Wolverine, but that’s fine! There’s still plenty more to look forward to.
While Resident Evil 9 is one of the biggest titles that people hope to see, Capcom’s lesser-known IP, Pragmata (which may or may not be stuck in development hell right now) also has a fair share of hype around it.
Considering the recent PC release for Ghost of Tsushima, if it’s following the God of War Ragnarok pattern, we might get jumped with an announcement for a sequel. There haven’t been any leaks on it so far, as the company is staying pretty quiet about the whole operation.
What are your predictions for the upcoming showcase? We’d love to see your guesses, so feel free to spill it all in the comments below!
