Christian Bale Had Difficultly Acting Around Him

Christian Bale went on to tell IndieWire about how he found Chris Rock extremely hilarious. So much so, that whenever the comedian would start telling his jokes, the actor would find it difficult to do his job, which was to stay in character and act. “But Chris is so bloody funny and I found that I couldn’t act, because I was just becoming Christian laughing at Chris Rock. So I had to go to him, I went, ‘Mate, I love talking to you, and we have mutual friends, but I can’t do it anymore. Because David didn’t ask me to make this film so he could just watch me giggle. He wants me to be Burt, and I’m forgetting how to be Burt.’”

He revealed that at one point, he had to go to Rock and tell him that he loved talking to him, and the two had a lot of mutual friends, however, he could not take it anymore. He elaborated on this, stating that the comedian’s humor was coming in the way of him, doing his job, and he was starting to forget to play his character.
