As it turns out, Matthew Perry was an avid gamer and would spend hours playing games. He was so hooked on Fallout 3 once that he had to visit a “hand doctor.”

Bethesda’s Fallout 3 wasn’t the success the company had hoped for and was criticized for being unable to be at par with the previous title, however, the game got itself a hardcore fan in Perry. The actor said that Fallout 3‘s post-apocalyptic set-up impressed him so much that he became an instant fan and loved “running around and killing things.“ Perry also gifted a signed copy of the game along with an Xbox 360 despite having no links to the game. His love for the franchise was soon acknowledged by Bethesda who decided to make the actor a part of the franchise and he was cast as the iconic voice of Benny in Fallout: New Vegas.
