A sequel to Marvel’s divisive cosmic epic Eternals is now a step closer to reality. While the sequel’s reality has been the subject of speculation and rumors, the latest update provides a promising glimpse into the studio’s plans for the cosmic saga.
Eternals, directed by Chloé Zhao, made its theatrical debut amid the challenges of the pandemic, presenting MCU enthusiasts with a unique and divisive cinematic experience. Despite being Marvel Studios’ lowest-scoring movie on Rotten Tomatoes, the film introduced audiences to a new group of immortal beings and raised questions about the potential for a sequel.
Eternals 2 Reportedly in Marvel Studios’ Production Calendar
While there has been no official confirmation from Marvel Studios, reports suggest that the studio is confident in Eternals‘ potential and is already planning for a follow-up.
Earlier, insider KC Walsh reported that Eternals 2 had been “added to Marvel Studios’ production calendar.”
Meanwhile, President Kevin Feige teased its audience on Harry Styles’ return to the MCU. Styles’ Eros debuted in one of Eternals‘ post-credits scenes.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Feige revealed that Marvel and Styles are excited about the actor returning as Eros.
“He’s excited. We’re excited. We will see. You introduce a lot of new characters in a lot of movies and a lot of tags. Where do the tag folk reappear? That’s a good question.”
The giant celestial body, Tiamut the Dreaming Celestial, was left unresolved at the end of Eternals. The film ended with the Eternals preventing the emergence of Tiamut, but it is unclear what happened to the celestial body after that.
Marvel Studios has, for no apparent reason, refrained from revisiting or addressing this celestial entity in subsequent MCU narratives. However, the revelation that an Eternals sequel is in development sparks anticipation that this cosmic mystery may finally be unraveled.

I didn’t like the first one but I might rewatch it. I found it to be a bit of a snoozefest.
