In an interview with ABC News, Frank Grillo admitted that the filming of Boss Level was a memorable yet painful experience for him. According to the Captain America: Civil War actor, the fight sequence with the Hacksaw Ridge director will be a memorable experience for him.

“The one fight I had with Mel — you would think it would be, but he’s not really comfortable with striking. And so I said, ‘Mel, when you throw the punch…make sure you don’t lean in because you’ll catch me.’ And the first punch he throws, he comes around and he elbows me in face.”

“Now he’s got Popeye forearms. So we say, Cut. And he goes, ‘You OK?’ And I’m like, ‘Uh huh.’ Like, I don’t want to get Mel upset. I go back to Carnahan, I go ‘Jaw.’ He goes, ‘That bad?’ I go ‘Out.’ He had dislodged my jaw.”

But Frank Grillo showed amazing endurance skills as the 57-year-old actor continued working in that state until a medic appeared 8 hours later to fix his jaw. The schedule was cut from forty-three days to twenty-seven days which demanded the stars to work tirelessly to finish the movie within the tight deadline. Moreover, the director Joe Carnahan incorporated that shot into that movie.
