Wheldon returned to helm Avengers: Age of Ultron, which grossed $1,395,316,979, and both films’ combined $2.9 billion collection made Wheldon MCU’s one of the highest-earning directors.
The Russo Brothers
Anthony J. Russo, alongside his brother Joseph Russo, has directed the Marvel films Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame made $1.2 billion in its opening weekend, such a record that’s tough for any film to break. Worldwide, Captain America: The Winter Soldier made $714,401,889, Captain America: Civil War grossed $1,151,899,586, Avengers: Infinity War took home $2,048,359,754 and the final Avengers movie made $2,788,912,285. It was the highest-grossing film of all time from July 2019 to March 2021.
The film was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 92nd Academy Awards, among other accolades. Combining Russo Brothers’ all four movies in the MCU, they grossed $6.7 billion.
