Terry Crews, the iconic actor is known worldwide for his comedic role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Alongside the comedy, the actor has also done his fair share of movies and series and is a fun personality to hang out with.
Mike Tyson, on the other hand, had a serious career as a professional boxer. There is a wide difference between the personality of the two gentlemen. There was a quote, however, that Crews needed to hear desperately and Tyson provided it.
Mike Tyson Got Real With Terry Crews!
There is no doubt that Terry Crews has always been a fun and chill personality who is everyone’s friend while working on any project. Out of the sets, Crews maintains his humorous persona and people love him for it.
Sitting down alongside Mike Tyson for a chat, Crews and Tyson had a great discussion regarding several things. With the clip shared on YouTube, Tyson seemed to drop a quote that resonated deeply with Terry Crews. Dropping his comedic persona for a minute, Crews revealed that he needed to hear this.
“Mike Tyson: Listen, if you’re a friend of everybody, you’re an enemy to yourself”
“Terry Crews: [In a calming tone] Yes… yes. Man I’m glad we got real. I needed this. This is therapy”
Well, we are sure that Tyson’s quote can be used by people all around the world as well. Although Crews manages a chill personality, the actor is actually a s*xual assault survivor and therefore, he did not return to The Expendables franchise in any of the sequels!
Terry Crews Had A Reason Not to Return To The Expendables Franchise
Being such a great actor, it’s hard to imagine that someone like Terry Crews was the victim of a s*xual assault but that is the case. During a party, the actor was groped by William Morris Endeavor agent Adam Venit. After filing cases against the agent, Crews sat in front of a committee and told his tale.
During the tale, the actor mentioned that he was told by Avi Lerner, the producer of The Expendables not to pursue the case further and drop the charges! In an interview with Deadline, the actor stated that this was the reason he vowed to never return to The Expendables franchise.
“No. Simply because this same producer is under his own … investigation. Abusers protect abusers — and this is one thing I had to decide, whether I was going to draw the line on. Am I going to be a part of this or am I gonna take a stand, and there are projects I had to turn down.”
With stories like how he was treated like dirt and several others, Crews has indeed suffered a lot. The actor, however, did not lose his composure and became one of the nicest people in Hollywood. Terry Crews’ most iconic role can be seen alongside Andy Samberg in Brooklyn Nine-Nine which is available to stream on Peacock Premium in the U.S.
