Harry Potter is one of the most significant franchises across various mediums, encompassing books, movies, and games. The series features a diverse cast of characters, including Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and many others. Daniel Radcliffe took on the challenging role of Harry Potter in the film series, showcasing his talent at a young age. With that said, Millie Bobby Brown decimated Daniel Radcliffe in just one line after he gave her tons of compliments.
Harry Potter has achieved iconic status not only for its exceptional worldbuilding and the immersive experience it provides, making fans feel like they’re part of Hogwarts, but also for its universal appeal. J.K. Rowling’s brainchild obviously influenced many things, but that doesn’t mean the series doesn’t have its own fair share of controversies.
Millie Bobby Brown Destroys Daniel Radcliffe With Just One Sentence
As revealed by an old interview featuring the Stranger Things cast when they were younger, Daniel Radcliffe was heard showering praises on all the actors in the show. Daniel Radcliffe noted how he was not as good as them when he was younger.
Millie Bobby Brown found Daniel Radcliffe’s comment amusing and decided to destroy him with one sentence by mocking him saying he wasn’t very good when he was younger by pointing out that Daniel Radcliffe was Harry Potter.
”He says ‘I wasn’t very good when I was younger.’ He was Harry Potter. Let’s just review.”
Naturally, this was an incredibly witty comment from Millie Bobby Brown, which goes to she she always had a ton of charm, even at a very young age. We wonder if she and Daniel Radcliffe will eventually work together in the future as well.
The Original Harry Potter Casting Director Left Over Daniel Radcliffe’s Hiring
Daniel Radcliffe began his journey as the Boy Who Lived with 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Chris Columbus and David Heyman went through extensive auditions, considering thousands of British boys of the right age for the role of Harry Potter. Despite their efforts, they did not find the right actor.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Columbus had a clear preference for Daniel Radcliffe, whom he had seen in a BBC production of David Copperfield. However, Radcliffe’s parents were initially hesitant about him taking the role.
“My casting director said to me, ‘You know, I’m so frustrated with you! I don’t know what you want!’” Columbus recalls. “And I picked up the copy of David Copperfield and said, ‘This is what I want! This is the person I want to be in the film! It doesn’t get much easier or simpler than that!’”
Frustration mounted, and after an unproductive casting session, Columbus expressed his desire for Radcliffe by pointing to the David Copperfield production. Eventually, Daniel Radcliffe was cast as Harry Potter, and the casting director resigned the following week.
Daniel Radcliffe was last involved in the world of Harry Potter during 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 back in 2011. Since then, he developed his acting chops in a wide variety of films and he is more than happy with his decision even now.
