Star Wars Jedi games star Cameron Monaghan recently revealed that his co-star Tina Ivlev is not easy to work with. The duo has appeared in the games of the Star Wars franchise and has been a huge hit. However, his recent comments on Ivlev at Calgary Expo 2024 might make you look at the Bound to Vengeance star differently. “It’s a great cast, really welcoming,” Monaghan said of the cast of the games (via, Agents of Fandom).

“Except for Tina [Ivlev]. She’s a real diva, she was very difficult to work with. She would tear up the scripts and yell ‘I’M THE BOSS NOW.’ She didn’t know how to pretend to fight, she actually got multiple assault charges. Most of the budget went to bailing her out of prison.”

Of course, he was not so serious about his comments on his co-star in his attempt to crack a joke on Ivlev. But it’s hard to nullify the statement entirely. Although he was fairly exaggerating, there could be some funny bloopers behind it that might propel him to comment on her in such a way. Still, Monaghan understands the prowess of the franchise as he finds the lores of the game captivating.

For Monaghan, the essence of the story is more important than the immaculate action through the adventures in the games. Certainly, the series is action-packed with challenges every step of the gameplay but the storytelling has always been predominant in the franchise. “You have an established lore character Canon all the stuff and you’re so excited about it,” Monaghan previously said (via, Game Informer) “And you love it but also at the end of the day this needs to exist and be satisfying and interesting regardless of this,” he added.

“And you want to be able to have them interact with each other and uh you know have an interplay but you also it’s always been important with me with our stories that the drama the stakes. The characters should be clear regardless of whether or not you have any understanding of anything outside of it and I want anybody who’s never watched Star Wars movie read a Star Wars story anything like that to be able to jump into this and play it and still be able to understand it. And then if you do have um you know a more experienced understanding then you’re only going to have a deepened appreciation of a lot of what’s going on here.”

The actor went on to thank Lucasfilm for the support along the way, “Lucasfilm were really generous and always adding input explaining” and helping them with the development of the story in the game. Further, the actor is extending his association with Disney as he is reportedly set to star in Tron: Ares alongside Jared Leto.
